Imported Products: Prawn Cutlets Marinated and Natural: With the shortage of raw material and weakening Aussie $ price have continued to escalate with each container unloading into port. This is trend is expected to continue well into January 2104 from indications by some importers. Apart from cutlets it has also impacted into prawn meat and cooked vannamei prawn. Some restaurant establishments have downgrade sizes they were originally offering to minimise portion costing.

Imported Fillets: There has also been less significant price increase in imported fillets with supply of different species expected to stay steady with the exception of the popular 200/300 grade that always reflects high demand.

Sealord Brands: There has been severe shortage of orange roughy in all grades over the last few months but positive news is that the product will now be sent to China for processing after being caught in the chilly New Zealand waters. Once processed it will be then distributed nationally ,this procedure is expected to ease the backlog of orders and reflect more consistent supply coming into late October onwards.
