…Bring customers through the door this winter

Running a successful restaurant, café or bistro during winter can be a struggle; however here are some quick tips to provide idea’s on attracting busy during the cooler weather.

  • Weatherproof your business: How comfortable is it to eat in your restaurant or café? In Qld many places have outdoor or alfresco areas. If customers are cold or out in the weather they will not stay long nor come back. You may want to consider installing heating or canopys to protect customers from the cold, wind or rain
  • Create a reason to come and dine: Give you customers a reason to dine out during the winter months.  Eg. Celebrate with a Christmas in July, Or try our new hearty winter menu, or a winter competition or promotion
  •  Take advantage of the extra time: Slower trading times are a great opportunity for your team to learn additional duties and refine their skills where needed.  This time is important for team building and moral and also will really benefit you when the summer trade picks up.
  •  Promote your business: Now is the time to focus on building additional business. Social media is a great inexpensive way of promoting your business. Why not write some e-newsletters and offer some specials by mail.  Contacting your local chamber of commerce can put you in touch with other local business owners and result in reciprocal trade.
